A society is a group of people who live together in the same place and share the same culture and customs.

Social scientists have explored societies from a variety of perspectives, identifying and analyzing their nature. 

One of the most interesting is Gerhard Lenski's view of society from a technological point of view.Gerhard Lenski analyzes the characteristics of societies that have changed over the last 10,000 years and explains the importance of technology and how it has undergone major social changes. 

Gerhard Lenski uses the term "socio-cultural evolution" to describe the changes that have taken place in society because of the advent of new technologies. A society with few or very simple technologies is incapable of influencing the environment. That technology does not support many people. Therefore, the society is small. There are only a small population.A multifaceted society can be supportive, and people's lifestyles can vary greatly from one technology to another.

He also said that the more technology is available in a society, the faster life changes. Low-tech, simple societies have very little change. The ancients used to say the same thing now. In today's highly technologically advanced society, great changes in the society in which a person lives, even in the course of a person's life, can be very rapid.

Gerhard Lenski analyzes the various societies that have existed in the world for generations from a technical point of view and classifies them into five categories. (1) Hunting; A community of loggers; (2) horticulture; Sheep, A community of goat herders; (3) an agricultural society; (4) an industrialized society; and (5) a post-industrialized society.
